In a May 23 advisory, Go cautioned the public against believing messages from several fake FB accounts and pages claiming that he or the Malasakit Center is giving out cash assistance to anyone who sends them a message.

Go, the principal author and sponsor of Republic Act No. 11463, or the Malasakit Centers Act of 2019.

He said his office is already taking steps to take down these fake accounts, “whose sole purpose is to use his name for scams and personal gain.”
