Hindi totoong si dating Pangulong Corazon “Cory” Aquino ang pumirma ng batas para sa kontraktuwalisasyon ng mga manggagawa. Taliwas ito sa paratang ng isang video na in-upload ng YouTube channel na “KAPATID AVINIDZ.”

Sa nasabing video na may titulong “Oh! Kabataan alam mo ba ito? Kasaysayang itinago ng mga Pinklawan!” ay maririnig ang ganitong voice over o pagsasalaysay: 

“Narito ang mga malalaking proyekto ni dating pangulong Maria Corazon Cojuangco Aquino […] Number 13, nag-approve ng contractual 5 months, pabor sa mga negosyanteng Chinese.”

Taliwas sa paratang ng video, walang nangyaring ganito noong panahon ni Aquino, na nagsilbing pangulo mula 1986 hanggang 1992.

“Wala akong na-encounter during the time ni [Cory] Aquino na there was a law that was passed by Congress or executive order issued by the President on contractualization or any contractual arrangement,” ayon sa pahayag sa ABS-CBN Fact Check Team ni Atty. Jose Sonny Matula, presidente ng Federation of Free Workers.

Sa katunayan, noong administrasyon pa ni dating Pangulong Ferdinand E. Marcos Sr. naipasa ang batas na nagbigay-daan sa kontraktuwalisasyon, aniya.

Noong Mayo 1, 1974, dalawang taon matapos ideklara ang Martial Law sa bansa, nilagdaan ni Marcos ang Presidential Decree No. 442 o ang Labor Code of the Philippines.
