FALSE

A graphic card circulating online claims that the International Criminal Court (ICC) has allowed former president Rodrigo Duterte to return to the Philippines after being detained for three months in The Hague, Netherlands. This is fake.

Published on June 5 but which continues to mislead netizens, the photo shared by a Facebook page used the logos of TV Patrol and ABS-CBN News with a text that read:

“ICC pinayagan ng umuwi ng Pilipinas si dating Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte (ICC allowed former president Rodrigo Duterte to go home).”

Its caption states:

“BREAKING NEWS: Dating pangulong Rodrigo Duterte pinayagan ng umuwi sa Pilipinas ng ICC matapos makulong ng ilang buwan…Read more…

(BREAKING NEWS: Former president Rodrigo Duterte has been allowed to go home to the Philippines after being detained for a few months).”

ABS-CBN News has not published any graphics card indicating that the ICC has released the former president.

The fake post also contains a clickbait link to a supposed news article but redirects to a product on an e-commerce site.
