A YouTube content creator falsely claimed that former president Rodrigo Duterte sang the patriotic song “Pilipinas Kong Mahal.”
The video was captioned as “Duterte, umawit ng kantang Pilipinas kong Mahal para makuha ang simpatya ng taumbayan.”
Epifanio Labrador, owner of the YouTube account, argued that Duterte should be ashamed of singing the patriotic song given his pro-China decisions during his presidency.
The original video, in which Duterte appears to be singing, was uploaded on TikTok by user yolakvlogs. The video now has some 85,600 likes.
A small “AI content” label appears at the bottom of the video, indicating it was AI-generated, but in Labrador’s video, this label was cropped out.
