CLAIM: Vice President Sara Duterte did not shake hands with Sen. Bong Go.

RATING: FALSE

A video of Vice President Sara Duterte and Sen. Bong Go has circulated on Facebook, falsely claiming that the vice president avoided shaking hands with Go.

The widely shared video happened when the vice president, in place of her father, former president Rodrigo Duterte, endorsed 10 senatorial candidates, otherwise known as the DuterTEN, in a PDP rally at Liwasang Bonifacio in Manila on May 8.

Netizens reacted and asserted, “Kawawa naman si Bong Go.” (What a pity for Bong Go).

“Kung ako sa’yo, bawian ko ‘yan sa impeachment, tapos lilipat ako ng partido,” referencing the pending impeachment trial of the vice president.

(“If I were you, I’d retaliate in the impeachment proceedings, then switch parties.”)
